Vocal Ensembles Perform Holiday Music

Posted Nov. 29, 2011

The Kent State University at Stark Music Department will present fall music performances by the University Chorus and Men’s Chorus that include holiday favorites. The concert will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Hall Auditorium, located at 6000 Frank Avenue in Jackson Township. This event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. Both ensembles are directed by Kenneth Kramer, professor of music. Sandy Wallace will accompany the choruses on piano.

The University Chorus consists of 30 talented Stark Campus students. Their performance begins with The Star-Spangled Banner and features a unique arrangement of Ava Maria, along with popular holiday music, including Carol of the Bells.

Nearly 30 vocally gifted Kent State Stark students comprise the Men’s Chorus. They will perform traditional and spiritual songs and a seasonal choice of Gloria in Excelsis Deo, as well as a choral adaptation of Robert Frost’s poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.
