SBDC Entrepreneurial Experience on April 10

Dr. Melvin Gravely II, a knowledgeable authority on entrepreneurism and minority business development, will be the keynote speaker for the fourth Entrepreneur Experience event, to be held on Wednesday, April 10 from 7:45 - 9:30 a.m. at Kent State University at Stark’s University Center, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Kent State Stark and the Stark Development Board proudly present the Entrepreneur Experience series, which is designed to encourage the professional practices of entrepreneurs at all levels. The proceeds from these events benefit the Small Business Development Center Scholarship Fund.

What is the Color of Opportunity?: The New Realities of Business and Race
Canton, Ohio native Dr. Melvin Gravely, II is the founder of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Thinking and is currently the president and CEO of TriVersity Construction, the seventh largest commercial builder in the Cincinnati region. The Institute is a think tank focused on improving the results of minority business development efforts. The Institute is nationally known for providing thought leadership and industry-changing research on issues at the intersection of business and race. The Institute is a trusted advisor to chambers of commerce and economic development organizations, major corporations and community leaders across the nation. Gravely is the author of eight books, including The Lost Art of Entrepreneurship, When Black and White Make Green, Getting To The Next Level and his latest, What is the Color of Opportunity?: The New Realities of Business and Race.
After 10 successful years working for a large corporation, he co-founded a civil engineering firm and grew it into a multimillion dollar company. Gravely, an author, speaker and entrepreneur, lectures and writes on various topics related to entrepreneurial thinking and minority business development. He is a frequent guest on radio stations from Los Angeles to New York and has been featured in many national publications, including Black Enterprise magazine, Minorities and Women In Business, Ebony magazine, Entrepreneur magazine and American City Business Journals.
Gravely has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and business finance from The University of Mount Union and a master’s degree from Kent State University. Gravely’s doctorate degree is in business administration and entrepreneurship from The Union Institute and University.
The Entrepreneur Experience registration fee of $20 per person includes breakfast.
