Kent State Stark Welcomes New Dean Dr. Walter WagorPosted May. 17, 2010
Walter F. Wagor became dean of Kent State University at Stark effective Aug. 1. Dr. Wagor replaces Interim Dean Ruth Capasso, who returned to her position of associate dean for academic affairs for the Stark Campus.
Dr. Wagor previously served as the dean of Behavioral and Applied Sciences and professor of psychology at the State University of New York College at Oneonta, a position he held since 2006, where he was one of two academic deans and held comprehensive responsibility for the management of Behavioral and Applied Sciences at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
His career also includes service as the acting chair for the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences, assistant vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, co-chair for the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences and assistant vice chancellor for Assessment at Indiana University East. In addition, Dr. Wagor served as president of Faculty Senate at both Indiana University East and Wright State University – Lake Campus, where he held the positions of instructor of psychology and later assistant professor of psychology.
Dr. Wagor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Houghton College, a Master of Science in Developmental Psychology from George Peabody College and a doctorate in developmental psychology and mental retardation research from George Peabody College.
