Upcoming Kent State Stark Music Events

Kent State Stark Chorale
Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Hall Auditorium

The Chorale, directed by Frederick Locker, will perform a full program of lively selections, including Great Getting’ Up Mornin’ and Brothers, Sing On. The ensemble of 20 students will be accompanied by Sandra Wallace on piano.
Faculty Recital
Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Main Hall Auditorium

The Kent State Stark Music Department faculty will entertain the audience with a full program of classic selections from notable composers, such as Schubert, Bottesini and Legrand, among others. The performance will showcase the voice and instrument talents of the following Kent State Stark faculty: Laurel Seeds, soprano; Melissa Davis, soprano; Brian Bennett, vibraphone and drums; Daniel Nauss, double bass; Sandy Wallace, piano; and Jerry Wong, piano.
Kent State Stark Concert Band
Tuesday, April 24 at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre
Tickets are required for this free event. Call 330-244-3348 on weekdays from 1 – 5 p.m. for tickets.
Enjoy an evening of classic marches, big band music, theatrical selections and more performed by the award-winning Kent State Stark Concert Band. The ensemble, comprised of talented high school and college students, faculty and community members, is conducted by Richard Kibler. The program will include Exaltations! by William Owens, Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and An American Elegy, composed by Frank Ticheli in memory of those who lost their lives at the Columbine High School tragedy and to honor the survivors.

Workshop in Lyric Theatre
Friday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre

The eight talented students of this ensemble will give theatrical performances of musical selections from various stage favorites, including Les Misérables, Little Shop of Horrors, Sweeney Todd and Wicked. Workshop in Lyric Theatre is directed by Melissa Davis and Sandra Wallace will be accompanying the students on piano.
