Buildings, Grounds & Maintenance
Buildings, Grounds & Maintenance consists of three smaller departments: custodial, grounds and maintenance.
The Custodial Department consists of 11 dedicated full-time staff with additional assistance provided by student employees. The department is responsible for cleaning all classrooms, restrooms and public areas, however, faculty and staff are responsible for cleaning his/her individual office or workstation. Other responsibilities include stripping and waxing floors, carpet cleaning and maintaining the campus' Recycling Program.
Over 200 acres of grounds are beautifully maintained by the campus' Grounds Department. The staff design and install campus planting beds, mow lawns, trim trees and shrubs and plow the snow in the winter. The groundskeepers have made it a mission to increase the diversity of plants by the addition of native and foreign species.
The Department handles large and small preventative maintenance and repair work throughout the campus. Two full-time staff are dedicated to this department and are assisted by other Building and Grounds personnel as needed.
