Option Descriptions
Dual Enrollment - College/University Site Option
- This option allows qualified students to take college courses at the college/university location, in addition to taking courses at the high school location.
- Students may earn both high school and college credit without paying tuition and will receive required textbooks free of charge.
- This option is only available during the fall and spring semesters.
- Private school students must be approved for funding by Ohio's Department of Education in order to attend under this option.
Dual Enrollment - High School Site Option
- This option allows qualified students to take college courses at their high school location. These courses are offered through a collaborative agreement between Kent State Stark and the school district, and are taught by a qualified high school teacher having the same academic credentials as an adjunct college professor.
- Students may earn both high school and college credit without paying tuition and will receive required textbooks free of charge.
- This option is only available during the fall and spring semesters.
- This option is not available at every high school. Students should check with their guidance office to see if their high school partners with Kent State Stark.
Option A: College Credit Only, Pay Tuition
for Home-schooled Students, Summer Enrollment and*Non-Kent State Full-time Pre-College Students
- Under this option, students earn college credit only and are responsible for paying for tuition and books.
- This is the only option available to high school students who wish to take summer classes.
- Kent State Stark welcomes applications from home-schooled students who, if accepted, are required to enroll under this option.
- *Pre-college students enrolled full-time in another college or university's pre-college program are restricted to this option at Kent State Stark. If you wish to take additional courses at Kent State Stark while you are enrolled full-time in another school's pre-college program, you will have to pay for your courses at Kent State Stark.
