Founded in 1967, Interfaith Campus Ministry serves the spiritual needs of the students, faculty, staff and administration of Kent State University at Stark and Stark State College through its various programs and services. In addition, Interfaith serves as a link between the campus and area religious congregations or volunteer service organizations. Central to the mission of Interfaith is the desire to provide a faith-based atmosphere where students can explore and grow in their own beliefs, while also gaining an appreciation for the beliefs of others.

Interfaith Fair

The Interfaith Fair will host practitioners from various religious traditions who will provide artifacts, information, and other resources to assist visitors in gaining a better understanding of their particular beliefs or traditions. Participants include: Shorook Attar, representing the Islamic faith; Thomas Norton-Smith, representing the Shawnee American Indian Tradition; Partha Rajagopal, representing the Hindu faith; Dina Musealyan and Rabbi Jon Adland, representing the Jewish faith; Carol Nagi, representing the Catholic faith; Vlad Muresan and Matthew Brandon, representing the Orthodox faith; as well as Ron Huish and Michael Gleason who will be representing the Protestant faith. A Word from the Director, Michael Gleason
On behalf of the Interfaith Board of Directors and Staff, allow me to welcome you to Kent State Stark. We sincerely hope your educational experience is both challenging and enriching. While you pursue your chosen course of study, there are times when you may benefit from one of our varied programs or a simple visit with one of our staff members. Interfaith Campus Ministry exists as a "Safe and Caring Place" and therefore we welcome the chance to meet with you personally or to be of service. Please call us for additional information related to our programs or to schedule an appointment. We hope to have the opportunity to become acquainted in the near future.

Interfaith Programs and Services
Many programs and services are offered through the Interfaith Campus Ministry. Here are just a few:

• Interfaith Fair: Students, faculty and staff from a variety of faiths provide both food and information representing their traditions.
  
• 9/11 Remembrance, May 4 and Ash Wednesday services.
• Community service opportunities.
• Rooted in Faith is a campus organization for students interested in the Christian faith. Meetings are held every Thursday in 017 Fine Arts from 5 - 6 p.m.
• Weekly small group scripture studies.
• "Insights" - a monthly multi-disciplinary program featuring topics that are of interest to students...along with a free lunch!
  
• Spiritual guidance and confidential faith-based counseling.
• Emergency assistance, referral and support.
• Assistance is helping students find an area faith community.

Campus Preschool and Childcare Center
Interfaith operates a preschool and child care center to serve the needs of students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. The center is located at the John Knox Presbyterian Church, across from the Kent State Stark and Stark State College campuses. Operating since 1976, the center provides care for approximately 100 children, ranging in age from six weeks to 12 years old.
